WORCESTER Nomads scored a memorable two-wicket victory over Ombersley in a high-scoring Worcestershire Indoor Cricket League game.

Ombersley got off to a great start with both openers Colin Brazier and James Quinn (25no) retiring and Mark Wakefield doing likewise.

But four wickets tumbled in the last two overs including Wakefield (26) and Paul Southall (22). Brazier finished unbeaten on 33 in a total of 131-5, Neil Claytor taking 1-28.

Nomads' openers Malcolm Jones and Derek Austin (13) put on 50, and after Dave Pearson fell for 14, young James Watkins held the innings together with an unbeaten 34.

Together with Jones, who returned to finish on 32no, they reached their target with a ball to spare.

In this week's other match, Chaddesley Corbett beat Droit-wich 'B' by four wickets.

Karl Everett (26) and Steve Walsh (22) led the way as Droitwich made 83-6.

Openers Kevin Trusswell (25no) and Connelly (15) put on 40 before Trusswell retired, and with Matt Boden making 10 and Ted Baylis 10no, Chaddesley got home with two wickets down.

In the Wednesday League, Droitwich 'C' defeated Broadwas by 21 runs.

Brian Gunston and Alex Barber (25no), gave Droitwich a slow but sure start with a stand of 46 before both retired, and although four wickets then fell, Gunston returned to take his score to 34no in a total of 92-4.

Broadwas were ahead of the run-rate when Neil Morris retired in the sixth over with the score on 50, but wickets then tumbled including Chris Oakley for 14 and Morris only added two on his return to fall for 29.

Broadwas were eventually bowled out for 71 with Martin

Himbleton 'B' conceded their game against Old Vigornians, who were awarded two points.
