IT'S amazing the lengths to which some people will go to get into events at the Three Counties Showground without having to pay.
As revealed in our front page story this week, one person even pretended to be blind, guide dog and all!
Understandable then that the Three Counties Agricultural Society should have announced its intention to clampdown on anyone trying to gain entry to its events this year by fraudulent means. It has estimated that such activities as the abuse of official passes is costing the Society, a non-profit making charity, £30,000 a year.
On the other hand, one can't help wondering if reducing the cost of entry to its main events might help both reduce the fraud and boost attendances. A non-member adult ticket for the forthcoming Spring Gardening Show, for example, will set you back £11.
The Society says, and quite rightly, that its events compare favourably with other major national shows and that, by comparison ticket prices are relatively inexpensive. What do you think?
Just three matches away from a return to Twickenham. Malvern's rugby boys are appealing for your support tomorrow. Time to hear that Malvern roar again. Malverrrrrrrrn...
