SIX parishioners were present at the bi-monthly meeting of Staunton Parish Council, chaired by Coun Brian Lewis. They voiced their concern regarding the new ditch, laid the wrong side of the bridle path causing flooding to Moat Lane.
After considerable discussion, it was decided to request a site meeting. One resident told the meeting he was fed up with walking through water for about a 30 yard stretch three months of the year.
The clerk, Mrs Penny Tracey, reported that the further 40mph speed limit and gateway signing is under way.
The County Council gave notice of the possible withdrawal of the 3.45pm bus service for Gloucester.
Coun Tony Fardon spoke of the continued flooding at the end of Moat Lane when some families are marooned. A site meeting is to be arranged with a member of the highways department.
With the large number of horse riders in the village, on a lighter note, it was suggested perhaps riders should take poop scoops when riding out!
