TWO Worcester teenagers caught up in a mass brawl involving a group of Scandinavians have been bound over to keep the peace.

Jay Dawson and Alison Eyles were arrested after the fight outside the city's Tramps nightclub.

It left Stefan Schmitt, one of the Scandinavian visitors who had been to the club in Angel Place, needing hospital treatment said Peter Parson, prosecuting before Worcester magistrates yesterday.

Jobless Eyles, aged 18, was so drunk she could barely remember the incident, while Dawson only remembered throwing out punches.

Mr Parson said Dawson, also 18, told police in interview he had only started fighting because he had been pushed.

They both agreed to be bound over before charges of racially-aggravated assault and affray against the pair, leading from events on Wednesday, November 15, were withdrawn.

"The Crown is unable to demonstrate that the defendants were directly involved, but did admit to the police that they were involved," said Mr Parson.

Mark Lister, defending Dawson, said: "He shouldn't have got himself involved in what was essentially other people's business."

Edward Gaynor-Smith, defending Eyles, said his client accepted she was "extremely drunk and she really cannot remember, but noted she did not herself pick up any injuries".

Dawson, of Bath Road, agreed to an 18-month bind over in the sum of £200, while Eyles, of Lichfield Avenue, Ronkswood, agreed to a £150 bind over for the same period.
