CLIFFORD Lord made a very valid point concerning the sports field on the Droitwich Road.

He said that many people were quick to attack proposals, but once seen to be a success, very rarely admitted that they have been mistaken and then praise the scheme or idea.

Unless, of course, you happen to be a member of the current Labour Government. They have this off to a fine art. For many years in opposition, they continually criticised many of the Conservative Government's policies.

However, when it came to the General Election, what did they do? They adopted many of these ideals, wrapped them up in their own "spin" and marketed them as "New Labour".

Perhaps Mr Lord should send a copy of his views to Tony Blair, so that when the next election comes round, he admits the good ideas are poached - like the ones that he and his colleagues keep promising, such as more police, more nurses and more teachers which never seem to materialise.
