CLIFFORD Lord wrote a very enthusiastic letter, in support of the playing field in Droitwich Road(You Say, January 15. May I remind him, next time he is watching a game of football on the new playing field, to reflect on the following:
1 The old playing field was frequently used on weekends for football and cricket games.
2 The new playing field was created purely by the city council, as a trade-off for the park-and-ride scheme.
3 The new playing field is sited on the opposite side to where the rest of the sports centres are situated.
The Evening News published a photo of the field, flooded. So how much more council tax money was spent to solve the drainage problem?
I think the low turn-out in last May's local elections and the Labour council losing control in Worcester City may have had something to do with their park-and-ride scheme.
