The changes are ringing at the former BT exchange, Kidderminster, which will be turned into a snooker and pool hall.
Wyre Forest planners have given the green light to applicant Allied Leisure Ltd for a hall on the ground and first floor.
The 14,500 sq ft site in Blackwell Street, where the founder of the penny post Sir Rowland Hill was born in 1795, used to house a telephone exchange until BT shut it down in 1986 with the loss of 26 jobs.
