LOCAL HISTORY SOCIETY: The first speaker of the new year was Mr Julian Foord, the curator of Harvington Hall, which is situated between Droitwich and Kidderminster. Mr Foord provided a fascinating insight into the perilously anxious times during Henry Tudor's reign and the part played by Harvington Hall, a place which surely deserves a visit in the near future. The next meeting on February 14 will begin at the slightly earlier time of 7.45pm when the business of the AGM will be dealt with prior to the main business of the evening when the speaker will be the archivist of the Local History Society, Cyril Johnson, on the society's recent photo survey. Meetings take place in the Greig Hall when members and non-members are welcome.
