AUDIENCES in Bourton have the chance to step back to the days of flares, psychedelia and golden eggs next week.

Golden eggs? That's all part of the fun in the Bourton Panto Group's new production, which hits the stage next Monday.

This time the cast, under the direction of producer Richard Mooney and musical director John Lloyd, are performing Mother Goose, but with a 1960s twist.

This, said cast member Wendy Holt, who plays the quite contrary Mary, Mary, means: "We have all got '60s hairdos and clothes and it is full of 60s music."

She added: "Everybody was a bit dubious to begin with, but it is really clicking into place and works very well, but we have still got the panto dame and the principal boy."

Mother Goose, is played by Tony Crawley and other stars are Margaret Crawley as the Mayoress, Vernon Rowledge as Billy McSilly and the principal boy, Colin, played by Naomi Broughton.

The cast have also had a hand from three fine art students studying for a degree at the Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Art, Jenny Westbrook, Richard Butler and Eleanor Cracknell.

"They have done some lovely backdrops for us," said Wendy.

Mother Goose is on at the Victoria Hall from next Monday to February 3 and tickets are on 07930 634717.
