TRIBUTES will be paid to those who suffered under Nazi oppression when a new memorial is unveiled on Saturday.
The first National Holocaust Memorial Day will be marked by prayers, poetry and floral tributes on the green behind the cenotaph at St Mary's Church, Kidderminster. The ceremony will be held at 10.30am.
Guests will include Wyre Forest District Council chairman John Gordon and council leader Mike Oborski, who is also consul of the Republic of Poland for the West Midlands.
The service will be led by Canon Jim Samuel.
Councillor Oborski said: "We are pleased to be taking a lead in marking the first National Holocaust Memorial Day.
"We hope that the memorial site we are unveiling will become a focal point for remembrance."
A display of prints showing life in concentration camps will open for a two-week run at 2pm on Saturday in Kidderminster Library.
