A HERB garden at an historic Elizabethan house will flourish again thanks to the skills of workers replacing pipework using the same methods as their 18th century forefathers.
Work on a vital new drain over the kitchen garden at Harvington Hall is underway following a contract with one of the country's best known specialists in church and historic buildings restoration Treasures of Ludlow, Shropshire.
The builders have used sand moulds to fashion an external drain to match exactly a drain on the other side of the building inscribed with the date 1750.
The £5,000 project will include a down spout to a water collection point for a herb garden to be established by the Hereford and Worcester Garden Trust.
