THE young rising stars of Cleobury Mortimer seconds recorded a superb 51-5 win at Droitwich thirds on Saturday.
With the firsts' home match against the same club postponed due to a frozen Cleobury pitch, Droitwich's ground was declared fit to play.
The speed of the attacks and solid defence ensured the home side were blown away after an early Kevin Shields penalty.
Winger Tom Griffiths, fresh from several months in South Africa, weighed in with a brace of tries, while Dan Bills, back after nearly two seasons, also managed two.
Backs scored six of the eight tries as young Matthew Griffiths added to his reputation with direct running from the centres and his third of the season.
Winger Daniel Mantle managed his first try of the season, assisted by superb running from full-back Chris Bunn.
Replacement Matthew Barnsley, a first team player, rampaged all over the field and grabbed two late tries.
Shields, Bunn, Willie Bache and Barnsley added conversions to the score to maintain their 100 per cent record since Christmas.
Star of the pack was wing-forward Rob Kirton who is knocking on the firsts door with an awesome display.
Cleobury return to firsts duty with a Midlands Four West (South) clash at Trinity Guild this weekend.
Fixtures, Saturday: Trinity Guild v Cleobury Mortimer 1sts and 2nds away.
