THREE goals in 16 second half minutes brought about a remarkable transformation after United's poor home form threatened again to hinder their promotion push.

The returning Andrew Hodgetts proved the home side's hero, scoring with his first touch and then adding a superb second before Shaun Pratt sealed a welcome Western Division win at Common Road. If Hodgetts was the star on the field then groundsman Nigel Greig was the top man off it.

Six hours of intense preparation provided a top-class playing surface although the hard work looked to be in vain when Cinderford took the interval lead against their out of sorts hosts.

Russell Parmenter's thumping header again brought the best out of Brookes a minute after the restart when a resurgent United poured forward in far more enterprising fashion.

However, it needed a brave Damien Beattie save and a slice of good fortune after 55 minutes to deny the visitors a second.

Three minutes later, Hodgetts and Licata replaced the unfortunate Brown and Deakin. Pratt's chase and shot saw Hodgetts force in the equaliser and there were several close shaves before Parmenter's
