MAGISTRATES sent a 23-year-old man to prison for a week after he admitted four offences of failing to answer bail.
Bail conditions had failed to ensure his appearance in court, said prosecutor Lynn Swain.
He had been arrested on a bench warrant and was in the dock handcuffed to a security officer.
Lee Morris, of Hurcott Road, Kidderminster, is charged with taking a vehicle and damaging it and receiving stolen property.
He was told that when he was released from custody he would be on bail to go back to court to answer those charges.
His absences had not always been his own fault, said Abigail Kingston, for Morris.
Hearings had been put off because prosecution witnesses failed to appear, leading to confusion over future dates.
