WITH reference to the article, 'Council Tax increase: now you have your say' in the Journal (January 18), Worcester County Council appear to be trying to pull off a master stroke in buck passing. It goes like this: - Given the choice, none of the options are ideal, and as a consequence the council would not be flavour of the month for implementing any of them. Then some bright spark in the chamber had a brain wave. Ask Joe Public which they would prefer, and the council is in a ideal situation. Whatever option is chosen it can say, "Don't blame us, you voted for it". Clever isn't it?

The council should be man enough, sorry, person enough, (must be politically correct) to make a decision themselves and not shift responsibility to the electorate, nor should they use that old chestnut of emotional blackmail of cuts in school s etc.

They should remember there is a proper time to have your say. The voting public put them in their plush offices, (I am of course referring to the higher echelon), and it is the voting public that can remove them.
