A WOMAN who was drunk kneed a policeman in the groin as he arrested her for shoplifting, magistrates heard.

Deborah Griffin had been bailed for six months for deferred sentence and was arrested on a warrant when she failed to appear in court last October, prosecutor Liz Tweed told the Kidderminster court.

Griffin, 37, of Usmere Road, Kidderminster, admitted assaulting PC Lee Davenport and stealing goods worth £150 from Wilkinsons, Haven and Oxfam.

She also admitted stealing whisky worth £186 from Asda in Bromsgrove and breach of a conditional discharge imposed for similar offences. Griffin was ordered to pay £100 compensation to the officer and £118 costs. She was again conditionally discharged for the thefts.
