THE manager of a Bromsgrove garden centre is planning to spice up her life with a 300-mile charity bike ride across India.
Jo Cummings, from Highfield Road, is in serious training for her arduous trek from Agra to New Delhi at the end of next month.
The 36-year-old cycles every day from her home to her job at Kingfisher Nursery, in Stourbridge Road, and clocks up many more miles at weekends in her bid to get fit.
She said the trip is being organised by the National Deaf Children's Society and she must raise a minimum of £2,000 through sponsorship.
"I'm paying my own £1,100 expenses and so far have £1,000 sponsor money," she said.
"I feel excited because I've never been to India before but I'm also a little nervous because it's a long way to ride over rough terrain."
Last year, Jo did a 55-mile trek along part of the Great Wall of China for the same charity.
"Many customers kindly sponsored me then and if they wish to support me on this challenge for a worthwhile cause, I will be happy to hear from them," she said.
Jo can be contacted at the nursery on (01527) 835084.
