A YOUNG actor from a Bromsgrove school has already reached the peak of the profession with a regular part in a prime-time show.
North Bromsgrove High School pupil Christopher Trenfield, aged 13, appears in ITV's Peak Practice as Charlie Webster, a teenager struggling to cope with his parents' divorce.
The series was mainly filmed last term, but the show's schedule was arranged so he missed as little school as possible.
He travelled from his Alvechurch home to the set in Derbyshire yesterday to film episode 12. Three episodes have been shown so far this series.
Christopher, who has also appeared in advertisements and radio plays, got the part after an audition in September arranged through the Carlton Television workshops, based in Birmingham.
The workshop organiser told him this was the biggest part any of their youngsters had landed. Christopher said: "Everyone's been really supportive. A lot of my friends have been watching the show for years so it's amazing that I'm on it now."
Sue Williams, Christopher's head of house at the school, said: "The staff and pupils all think it's fantastic. Now we all have to tape the show. He's very quiet and unassuming, though. He's got a bright future in front of him."
