REDDITCH Regents head into their biggest game of the season on Sunday when they take on unbeaten leaders Lasers.

The Great Barr-based side are six points ahead of third-placed Regents and look odds-on for the title.

But Regents coach Dave Bradshaw wants to upset the apple cart and hopes to field his strongest side.

Bradshaw is hoping two guard Danny Moorhouse will be available after missing games through work commitments.

The competition for places is so fierce, Birmingham Bullets under 18s small forward Tommy Humphries might be left in the cold after missing the 71-60 win over Smiths Wood Sabres on Sunday.

Gavin Giles (back injury) is the only absentee.

Tony Hobday (14 points) and Adam Jefferies (10) put eight week lay-offs behind them to hit the points trail.

After a slow start the game burst into life via an 18-2 Regents blitz to leave Redditch 21-9 up at the end of the first quarter.

Stung into action, Smiths Wood began playing better defence and narrowly took the second quarter by two points to trail 33-23 at half time.

Another 11-0 run by Regents in the third quarter put the game beyond Smiths Wood despite a last gasp 15-2 surge in the final three minutes.

Redditch Regals continued their stroll to the title with a 92-41 demolition of Worcester side Panthers with Corinne Stone rattling up 52 points.

Regals return to Worcester to face Wild Things on Thursday (tip-off 7.30pm at Elgar High School) before taking on Shropshire at their Arrowvale High base on Sunday (tip-off 6.15pm).
