WORCESTERSHIRE representatives The Leys saw their cup hopes shot down by Oxfordshire side Gosford Hill 3-0.

After winning the County Cup on the back of hat-trick hero Carl Gould's exploits the Leys met their match in the ESFA Genie Schools and Colleges U19 Trophy.

The first half got off to a blistering start with both sides looking for an early goal.

It was to be Gosford Hill who opened the scoring through Curtin with a deflection within the first ten minutes.

The Leys battled on after this setback creating numerous chances, Gould going closest when rounding the keeper before having his shot cleared off the line.

But it was Gosford who went two up before the break.

The second half was a passionate affair with the home crowd getting behind their team.

A great deal of Leys pressure went unrewarded before a third Gosford goal midway through the second half made the tie safe.

The Leys spirit was evident as they refused to buckle, going close on a number of occasions, and hitting the post late on.

6 Gould hit a hat-trick in the County final.
