SAMUEL Wilderspin was balloted out of a good-looking opportunity at Warwick earlier this month but has been found another suitable race in the Tim Forster Cup at Wincanton tomorrow.

He has run well on both his starts for Richard Lee this season, chasing home Royale De Vassy at Cheltenham when looking as if the race would bring him on and then finishing fourth returned to the course in a hotter event.

The nine-year-old was well regarded as a novice when trained by David Nicholson and then Alan King but his career was held back by injury problems and broken blood vessels.

However, he seems to have put those troubles behind him and now that he is likely to have reached full fitness he can oblige from an attractive-looking handicap mark.

Copper Coin ran a cracker at Kempton on Boxing Day when having his second run after an 18-month absence, he chased home Facts Not Fiction in a decent handicap hurdle.

Further improvement on that form can be expected from the son of Mandalus, who looks a thorough stayer in the making and he can take the Potters Handicap Hurdle.

Dower House looks a high-class prospect over timber now that Mick Easterby has apparently got him firing again.

The six-year-old was a one-time smart performer on the level who lost his way but looked back to his very best when scoring on his hurdling debut at Newcastle last month and that form is starting to work out very well with runner-up Rum Pointer and third-placed Konker both scoring convincingly since.

Easterby's charge has had a handful of suitable opportunities over the past few days denied to him on account of the weather but connections must be looking forward to seeing him win again and the Oregano Novices' Hurdle at Catterick looks a suitable target.
