A BIG thank you has gone out to kind readers who dug deep to save a cash-stricken animal rescue centre near Droitwich.

The Advertiser this month featured an appeal by Danemere Animal Rescue, in Tibberton, which needed urgent donations.

Nearly £600 has been pledged thanks to the story.

Fourteen animals have since been re-homed and several businesses have stepped forward to offer sponsorship.

Owner and a charity trustee Sue Quinlan said: "I am really grateful to the Advertiser and Spa residents.

"Now we need people who could become monthly sponsors so that bills can be met in the future.

"It's a never ending struggle and I offer heartfelt thanks to everyone who supports our work."

Danemere was founded in 1993 and became a registered charity in 1997.

It works alongside the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) and Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue.

If you can help, send a cheque to Danemere Animal Rescue, Danemere Petotel, The Common Farm, Tibberton, Droitwich, WR9 7NG.
