A MOTORISED transport scheme for old and disabled residents is closing because of an apathetic response.
Droitwich Spa Shopmobility, based in Droitwich Spa Indoor Market, will close its doors on Friday February 23.
It opened a year ago and boasts a wide range of equipment including electric wheelchairs and scooters.
Phil Pepper, of Suffolk Way, has organised a majority of the day to day running.
He told the Advertiser: "Just three people have used the scheme this month.
"We're wasting our time and cash because Droitwich people have got their own equipment or they shop where stores are more accessible. It's sad, but we must be realistic."
The charity will now be looking for good causes which would benefit from the spare equipment.
