A CLOSE working relationship between Redditch police and minority groups has been highlighted following the release of a national report.
West Mercia Constabulary received recognition for the way it tackles racial issues in a report by Her Majesty's Inspector of Constabulary.
The document, called 'Winning the Race: Embracing Diversity' said the force demonstrated good practice in the way it deals with racist incidents and recruits ethnic minority staff.
West Mercia's deputy chief constable Peter Neyroud said: "Members of minority ethnic groups also work closely with the police at local level, particularly in Worcester, Redditch and Telford, to raise awareness of racial issues among officers and to help monitor the way police deal with racist incidents."
