The first Holocaust Memorial Day takes place on Saturday.
The national event has been designated by the Government to mark the plight of victims of genocide, oppression and atrocities.
Schoolchildren will be holding a remembrance service in the Kingfisher Centre and a day long vigil in the Methodist Church in Ipsley Street is also planned.
