IN response to Don Vincent's letter (Advertiser, January 17) I would like to defend the town's youth, whom he claims are 'undeserving'.
Many youngsters are staying at home, some seeking entertainment by vandalism, others leaving the town to go to the cinema or ice rink just because of Redditch's lack of facilities or entertainment.
The youth of this town are being driven away, or seeking the wrong sort of entertainment, such as breaking the law.
The council should resurface the skate park and do the one little thing the youth ask for - provide entertainment.
The town's student council helped to put the Redditch Wheels Project into motion. Should we not praise the youth for putting one source of entertainment in the town?
Maybe the council should follow the student council's ideas. We'll get something done with this town then.
