WORRIED householders attended a meeting on Monday to voice concerns about a proposal to build flats near their homes.
Residents handed a petition to Droitwich Spa Town Council's planning committee boasting more than 70 signatures opposing an application to construct two flats plus parking spaces in Harris Close, off Burrish Street.
The handful of protesters from nearby properties also delivered a list of objections including concerns about privacy, over-development and wildlife.
Nine Foot Way resident Alison Harrison told the Advertiser: "My property looks over the vacant land and I wasn't even sent a planning notice. I'm very upset."
Dawn Dodd, of Albert Street, said: "The gable end and car park for the development will open onto the back of my home.
"I'm adamant it should not go ahead."
Mayor Don Lawley (Con, Droit.South) said: "This is a little green space that should be preserved."
Members unanimously agreed to ask Wychavon District Council to refuse the application. Town council leader Cllr Pam Davey (Con, Droit.South) said when the application came before Wychavon, of which she is a member, she would call for a site visit.
Agent NJ Teale, based near Upton upon Severn, is handling the application. No-one from the company was available for comment.
