SCHOOLS in South Warwickshire have received a £21 million boost from the Government to pay for building improvements.
Education secretary David Blunkett announced a £4 billion school modernisation plan last week, which will see the multi-million pound share come to the county over the next three years.
The start of the next financial year in April will see £9.9 million given to the county council to be shared amongst all schools, according to a formula based on the type of school and number of pupils.
Over the coming years, a further £9.8 million will be handed over for urgent projects, including rewiring, replacing boilers and new roofs, and £1.5 million of seed challenge funding will be given for the LEA to hand out money for schools able to match the cost themselves.
