Councillor
prefers his
bass guitar
WORCESTER city councillor David Barlow has informed me he is tired of references by myself and my colleague, John Phillpott, to his banjo-playing.
Astute readers will recall that Coun Barlow, while still leader of the council, brought his banjo with him to the May elections last year - ostensibly to accompany his comrades as they sang The Red Flag to celebrate victory.
Alas it was not to be, as the party saw the Conservatives cruise ahead in the polls.
Coun Barlow would like it known that he rarely plays the banjo, as he prefers the guitar and bass guitar.
In case anyone is wondering, his musical tastes include 12-bar blues and 1960s tunes, such as Twist and Shout.
