6 THE majority of potential patients in Worcestershire now appreciate that the NHS management decision to close Kidderminster Hospital was wrong.

To allow its medical services to run down 18 months before the new hospital in Worcester is up and running was further management failure of the worst order.

Unfortunately, it has resulted in a poor level of health service in the area and drawn criticism not only from members of the public but also from local MPs, consultants and GPs.

In your edition of Monday, January 8, MP Michael Foster is reported as saying that the "Trust is run by exceptionally talented management who are getting the job done".

I regret that this is just not true - Worcestershire has no confidence left in the present management.

Resuscitate

Harold Musgrove spent much of his working life trying to resuscitate the ailing British-owned motor industry, but although he is willing, it has not equipped him to be a dynamic Chairman for an Acute Hospital Trust.

Worcestershire needs new NHS management that will re-open and equip Kidderminster Hospital, which, together with the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch and the new Worcester Hospital, might stand a chance of giving the people of Worcestershire the Health Service Health Service they rightly deserve.
