STOURPORT made it all over for Mickleover as the Swifts strolled through to the final 16 of the FA Carlsberg Vase for the first time in their history.

They gave a five-star performance at Walshes Meadow to beat Mickleover Sports 5-2 in their fourth round tie on Saturday, and move within four games of the final at Villa Park.

They will now be hoping for a home tie in today's fifth round draw.

Swifts effectively put the game beyond the Derbyshire visitors deep in the first half when the Swifts won a penalty to take a 3-1 lead and Mickleover were reduced to 10 men.

In the opening minutes Lee Booth broke through to test Sports stopper Mark Wilson, whose parry fell into the path of the in-form Paul Moore to put Stourport on top.

It was not long before Moore found the net again to make it 2-0, this time Lea Shaw putting the ball back into the danger area following a half-cleared corner.

Mickleover then replied with a breakaway goal for Bevan Hudson before Booth forced a penalty from which the Northern Counties East League side never really recovered.

The Stourport striker duly netted the spot-kick and Sports defender Richard Cope received his marching orders from referee David Cooke.

Stourport had the luxury of a host of missed opportunities, notably when Moore forced a fine save from Wilson to bring a corner, while Booth took advantage of some dreadful marking only to fire straight at Wilson.

Alex Cowley went on to resume the scoring with the pick of the goals after walking the ball round Wilson.

Booth then extended the lead to 5-1 on the hour when the Mickleover defence were caught in possession.

A diving header from Tony Marsdon brought a consolation second for the visitors, but it wasn't enough to halt the Swifts celebrations.
