THE tide has turned for a rescued wire-making business on news of a bumper £4.75 million European contract.

The contract to supply one of the world's top five tyre manufacturers has come as a big boost to the former NS Eurowire factory team whose Kidderminster 12-acre works merged last year with Romwire Ltd's industrial wire manufacturing facility at Lichfield.

The deal with a tyre group the company has declined to name is the biggest yet since the rescue of the troubled Kidderminster concern.

It means the town works, which previously supplied three plants in Eastern Europe and the UK, will now supply several European sites.
