A DROITWICH woman threatened to attack a near-neighbour with a knife during a harassment campaign.

Denise Kimberley travelled to Worcester's Newtown Hospital to wage war on Helen Smith at her workplace, the city's magistrates were told.

They ordered psychiatric reports to be prepared after the 44-year-old admitted putting Ms Smith in fear of her life.

Kimberley's latest harassment campaign lasted nearly a month following a history of problems between the two women.

She had been bound over to keep the peace for 12 months in August amid similar allegations. Yesterday she admitted breaking the order.

On Friday, December 15, Kimberley went to Ms Smith's home - around 100 yards from her own in Meadow Road, Westlands - and said she would attack her with a knife, though no weapon was produced, said Mark Soper, prosecuting.

Iain Willis, defending, told the court that Kimberley's vendetta against Ms Smith had been going on for around 18 months.

Distraught

"Denise Kimberley has demonstrated she is totally unable to let go of previous incidents," said Mr Willis.

"It has been eating away at her and she has been constantly upset and distraught at what happened.

"She admits she has an alcohol problem she is unable to resolve. My suspicion is the alcohol problem and the other problem are very much linked."

Magistrates adjourned sentencing until Monday, February 5. Kimberley was given bail on condition she did not contact Ms Smith.
