THE decision to close the city bridge on the evening of Tuesday, November 7, was no mean feat.
It was clear to the many who were able to traverse New Road that west-bound traffic could and should have been given the right of way. But this would have meant that our esteemed constabulary would have had to deploy constables to segregate traffic at the south end of Deansway and the east end of Castle Street.
They failed by inactivity to keep Henwick Road free running so there is nothing exceptional there!
