I NOTE in October 19 issue of the Shuttle/Times & News that improvements are being made to Kidderminster town centre.

This is mainly a new Tesco superstore. We are to have our River Stour realigned, and the art deco frontage of Brintons on Castle Road is to be preserved.

In all it will be a welcome change to our usual dreary town.

All these changes will be embraced by most residents of Kidderminster. However, what I cannot believe is that work will begin this month. It's typical that any major work done always seems to be just before a major holiday period.

At this time of the year, the town will be full of shoppers, which will mean car parks will be overflowing (New Road and Castle Road included). What good planning.

The second phase of this project is not to start until the New Year, so why not start it all in the New Year? What difference will a couple of months make?

Any decorations put up will pale into insignificance by the town being bulldozed.
