REDDITCH Road & Path Cycling Club is mourning the death of member John Daffern, aged 75.
John was a keen competitor from his earliest years, recording some exceptional times in time-trials in the early 1940s before war service interrupted his activities; he saw action on D-Day.
When he returned to competition he became involved with road racing as well as time-trials and held several club records.
He continued to cycle with the club until shortly before his death.
