DROITWICH maintained their unbeaten league record despite last minute changes due to sweeper Sue Williams' injury.

The game went to plan for Spa when Gemma Richards converted in the opening minutes. With ongoing pressure and good team work, Kate Rodgman dominated the right wing and scored the second.

Norton caught Droitwich off balance and pulled a goal back to make it 2-1 but the lead was soon restored with a timely deflection by Rodgman from a short corner. Worcester broke on the counter attack and got their second from a short corner.

Droitwich were unnerved and grabbed a fourth from Angie Cornelious to end the first half with a two goal advantage.

Norton started brightly after the break and were rewarded with their third goal.

With sustained pressure on the Worcester Norton goal, Angie Cornelious and Gemma Richards doubled their tally for the day to give Droitwich a healthy result.

Captain Claire Darby, who was player of the match, said: "We all played well and turned chances into exciting goals."

Gill Jones and Lesley Thomas also played well showing great first team flexibility in their new roles during the match as sweeper and right back. Hannah Deacon also showed good team play.
