MILLIONS of pounds could be pumped into Worcestershire as the county is in the running for rural cash aid (Evening News. October 19).

But, is this more "spin" out of Downing Street to impress us country bumpkins in this area where the Countryside Alliance has many supporters and the Countryside Party is threatening to put up a candidate to blow away Labour MP Mike Foster's 7,425 majority?

Then again, we have PM Tony Blair saying he would vote against the Euro if a referendum were being held at the present time. Is it because the Euro is rapidly going through the floor? Or, like extra cash for the county, could it be coincidence that a General Election is not too many months away?
