EDUCATION Commentary (Evening News, Wednesday, October 18) said it is important for children to see cows being milked. When I was a village lad, cows were milked by hand. Harry Daffurn, a farmer's son, used to tilt the cow's teat sideways, and squirt us boys with milk as we stood waiting with our milk cans.
