A WORCESTERSHIRE racing driver has signed up for a prestigious sal-oon car series next season.
Peter van Zyl, from Hartlebury, has been offered a chance to drive in the Ford Fiesta Credit Championship, a support series to the British Touring Car Champion-ship.
He said: "I have been offered a drive in the team but it is all subject to sponsorship, which I am hoping to secure."
van Zyl, a former pupil at the King's School, Worcester, completed his first season of single-seater racing by competing in one of Britain's biggest motorsport events, the Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch.
Driving a Royale RP26 in the Classic section, he qualified 19th on the grid but held his position comfortably until spinning off at Druids hairpin on the final lap.
He added: "It was quite disappointing really. My qualifying position was very good but I was disappointed not to finish."
