SHOWING off cost an Evesham driver a fine of £100, with £35 costs, at the town court.
Andrew Stean, aged 20, of Lanesfield Park, Greenhill, pleaded guilty to unlawfully using a car fitted with a blue warning beacon on July 26.
Julian Harris, prosecuting, said Stean came up behind a police car at Stoulton, the driver became aware of a blue flashing light from the car headlights. "In the dark it could have been mistaken for a police car," he said.
Stean told police the blue lights were operated from the dashboard and he had them fitted "just for show."
Court clerk Caroline Stuart said it was an unusual case and Mr Harris said he had never come across it before.
