THE Mayor of Malvern's Charity Ball last Friday (October 20) has been hailed as a great success.

Around 130 people attended the event in the Elgar Suite at the Abbey Hotel, where they enjoyed a sparkling wine reception, followed by supper and dancing to the band Blue Sky.

Mayor David Williams said: "We are still adding it up but it looks like we have raised well over £1,000."

Proceeds will be divided among between Kaleidoscope, Age Concern Malvern, Malvern Theatres Education Project and the Malvern Mayor's Charity.

Coun Williams said: "Everyone seemed to have a good time; I know I did, and there were a lot of town councillors there.

"I would like to thank everyone for their support.

"The Abbey did us proud with the food, the band were good, and I especially want to thank Julie and Colette in the Town Council office for their work in organising the event."
