BROMYARD Paralympic athlete Janet McMorran just missed out on a medal in the wheelchair tennis event at the Sydney games.
The mother of three from Tedstone Delamere lost out in the quarter finals of the singles competition to the defending champion from Holland, Maaike Smit.
McMorran, aged 50, who was competing in her third Paralympics, won the first set 6-2, but Smit his back to win the final two sets 6-1 6-0.
She had been Thailand's Narumol Chinprahus 6-2 6-2 in the previous round.
The UK number one player, McMorran also lost out in the quarter finals of the doubles with her partner Kimberley Dell, beaten by a Japanese pairing.
