COUNCILLORS are set to think again about creating a parish council for Lickey End residents.

At next Wednesday's meeting of Bromsgrove District Council's policy and resources committee, members are set to give their views on establishing the body.

The authority had reported to the Government that the results of a survey did not justify the creation of a parish council but the Department of Environment, Transport and the Regions (DETR) wants more information about Lickey End as a community.

Petitioners have submitted their views to the council stating the area has its own community activities and that residents' needs cannot be met by a group with no elective mandate.

At the meeting councillors will discuss whether they want to change their initial decision.
