DO we need a town council? Yes! It is government policy that all councils play a key role in the community. From a personal view, I feel that it is unfair that former council members should criticise a new assembly when they are well aware of the problems that have been left them. These include poor judgment on office accommodation, staffing levels, and finance.
They are also aware of the years of neglect of the assets inherited from MHDC which includes the christmas lights. The staff have been working their butts off and are very loyal and dedicated. We are very determined to make progress, it's an up-hill struggle but once we get our staff up to strength and in a proper working environment rapid progress can be made. Please bear with us, we do have your interests at heart this time.
