Just three months after its launch at the Village Fete in July, the West Malvern Book has sold almost 100 copies for the Friends of St James's Church. This re-make of a 1950s scrapbook about the village has been a minor publishing success and has charmed all who have seen it. Most sales have been direct to local people, but a number of copies have been sold through Great Malvern bookshops. Further sales are anticipated as more and more people become aware of the book, which could make an ideal Christmas present for friends and relations who were brought up in or have lived in West Malvern and have moved away. Copies can be ordered from David Constable (tel. 572437). As the book is published 'on demand' by Cappella Archive, it would be wise to get any Christmas orders in good time.

The Friends of St James's will be holding their AGM in the Church on Friday, November 10, at 7.30pm following which Lawrie Gregory will present a showing of a unique collection of old pictures of West Malvern. There will be no charge for admission but there will be a collection for the church roof repair fund.

The Lamb Inn is conducting a weekly raffle to raise money for a Christmas Dinner for residents of the retirement bungalows in St James's Crescent and Old Hollow.
