THE annual auction for Staunton Church funds was organised by Pauline Trigg and Jennifer Clayton, with a very willing band of helpers both on Friday and Saturday. Some of them have been helping with this fundraising event ever since its inception 20 or more years ago. The auctioneer was Pat Briddon. Electrical garden implements fetched the best prices this year. Refreshments were served throughout. With so many fundraising events taking place there were less buyers than usual but the PCC thank all those who attended and all who worked so hard to make the sale a success.

Hartpury, Corse & Staunton branch of the Mother's Union hold a service every year on the fourth Sunday in October to mark the beginning of their year. It is always held in Hartpury Parish Church which was beautifully decorated from the wedding on the previous day and everyone appreciated the lovely arrangements. In the absence of Canon John Evans, the service was conducted by Ursula Groves-Smith, Branch Leader. The Lessons were read by Mary McGhee and the offertory was taken by Lillian Brewer and Jean Hanby. Organist was Holly Chapman.
