Evesham Archery Club

STANDING first in division one Evesham archers rounded off the West Midlands postal league with another strong performance.

Shooting the gents' long metric round at 90 and 70 metres, county champion Malcolm Porter was once more the month's top scorer with a fine 597.

Junior compound bow archer Jacquie Williams notched up an excellent 559 adjusted long metric three and added to her extensive collection of county records.

Peter Williams recorded 549 with his six dozen arrows and finished third.

Compound bow Lloyd Burton registered 547 after adjustment, while Olympic bow archer Laurence Gregory (533) completed the team of five.

Jacquie Williams' 1538 gave her first position in the handicap adjusted section, with David Burns second on 1503.

An archer shooting to handicap would amass 1440.

Lloyd Burton made 1443 and took the final aggregate to 10209. A total which should secure the 2000 title.
