ALVECHURCH manager Mick Preece has shelved plans to sign hitman James Miah from Lye Meadow tenants Kings Heath.
The Church boss has heard Miah is settled at Heath and is unable to play every Saturday because of personal commitments.
The issue has been clouded by reports Miah, missing from the Kingsmen's lineup on Saturday, scored for Coventry Marconi on Saturday.
Preece has turned his attentions to another unnamed forward in a bid to keep his charges in the chasing pack.
Defender Carl Dainter has jumped ship to neighbours Feckenham.
Church visit Handrahan Timbers in the Challenge Cup on Saturday (ko 2.45pm) and entertain Alveston in the league on Tuesday (ko 7.30pm).
The visit of Highgate at the weekend was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
Alvechurch Reserves, who top the Midland Comb Division Three have been named Glover Rowley Team of the Month for the division in September.
