KINGS Heath manager Sean Lawless this week denied reports star striker James Miah had transferred to Coventry Marconi.

Miah, who has been courted by Lye Meadow landlords Alvechurch, was missing for Saturday's 1-0 loss to Alveston.

But a James Miah was reported to have been on the scoresheet for Marconi against neighbours Feckenham on Saturday.

I spoke to James this week and he has made himself available for Wednesday, said a confused Lawless.

We haven't signed any transfer forms so if he did play, it was illegally.

With the injuries mounting Lawless has strengthened his squad with two new faces.

Right-sided midfielder Lee Brosnan has joined from Midland Comb rivals Highgate United.

Lawless managed the youngster in Sunday football after lining up alongside his father Jerry for Heath.

And the Kingsmen boss has taken Paget Rangers teenage sensation Andy Simeon on loan until the end of the season.

Midfielder Micky Burton has been sidelined for six weeks after damaging ankle ligaments in the warm-up for last week's 1-1 draw with Nuneaton Griffs.

Goalkeeper Ken Sanders, who injured his back in the same warm-up is expected to be fit for tonight's (Wednesday) trip to Continental Star (ko 7.30pm) but is being kept out by replacement Dave Hancock.

Sweeper Scott Matthews is a fortnight away with knee ligament problems and forward Mark cartwright has been sidelined for three weeks with a hamstring tear.

The Lye Meadow tenants entertain neighbours Feckenham on Saturday (ko 2.45pm) in a change to the advertised fixture.
